Skiexpo gathers slope skiers, freeriders, freestylers and cross-country skiers together to scope out the novelties with plans for the winter season in mind.

New school skiers will compete at Skiexpo in a rail jam on real snow. Rail jams were created on city streets, and it is all about sliding down a metallic rail on skis and performing different kinds of tricks. Saturday’s invitation-only competition features Finland’s top skiers. In the slalom ski exhibition area, you can see all the coolest ski movie premiers from around the world.

You can also test your skills and strength on snow shoes, on the climbing wall and in the ice pick testing area. The ski boot doctor will give advice on choosing the right boots. At Skiexpo, you can also find a testing area for avalanche beacons, where visitors themselves can try out what it is like to work in a rescue squad or learn how it is possible to find a person trapped under the snow with the help of beacons.

All significant Finnish centres and many small local centres are featured in the exhibition. The beating heart of the Travelling area is the Snow Stage area, where you can spot a ski boot dancing competition, the Finland-Sweden competition of ski mascots, stars of reality television and guest artists. In addition, the fashion shows have returned to the programme on the request of the exhibitors and visitors.
